Certain memories are embedded in our minds forever, a first kiss, the birth of a child, the moment he gets down on one knee, the moment she says, “I do”. These moments and these people live eternally in our memories.

 

As a young man from a small town in Arkansas, I spent most of my free time duck hunting and fishing. I started hiking with friends in search of wildlife, old mine shafts, and stunning Arkansas waterfalls which led to a passion for photography. My wife, Sarah, living in Alaska while we were dating, enjoyed experiencing the beauty of God’s creation. She loved nothing more than seeing the wind and snow rush across the Chugach Mountains or the colors of the Aurora Borealis dance on cold, winter nights. This developed within her a desire to capture only a moment of the Ultimate Artist’s canvas.

 

Our relationship started behind a tree in graduate school. Sarah ran me over while playing an intense game of capture the flag. She thought I was a tree, not a large man in camouflage. That memory sparked a relationship that eventually grew into marriage and a beautiful family.
